What this reference adds

A list of capitals is useful, but a comparison is easier to remember. Each profile places area and population within the same 197-entry roster, explains borders in plain language and finishes with a study cue designed for GeoBlitz modes.

Comparable measurements

All profiles use square kilometres, the same population snapshot and rankings calculated only across the playable roster. This avoids mixing incompatible definitions within the page.

Game-aware geography

The regional label follows GeoBlitz gameplay. Russia and Türkiye can therefore appear as Europe-and-Asia entries even where another statistical system chooses a single region.

Population figures are approximate. Populations change continuously and source years can differ. Use the values for broad comparison, not as live census totals. Area values also vary when inland water or disputed territory is treated differently.

Yemen is grouped with Asia in GeoBlitz and with Western Asia in the reference data. Its area makes it larger than most in the 197-entry roster, while its approximate population ranks 48.

On the population-to-area comparison used here, it is relatively lightly populated. GeoBlitz accepts Sanaa and Sana'a in capital-answer contexts because the country has more than one recognised capital or seat used by the game.

Yemen shares listed land borders with Oman and Saudi Arabia. That neighbour set is useful in both map recall and Border Chain.

Official-form name in the source dataset: Republic of Yemen.

Study cue for Yemen: learn its 2 listed land neighbours, beginning with Oman and Saudi Arabia, then attach the capital Sanaa.

Methodology and sources

The playable names and capital answers come from the same 197-entry dataset used by GeoBlitz. Area, population, language, currency and border fields were matched by two-letter country code to a pinned revision of the open REST Countries dataset. Rankings and density calculations are original GeoBlitz calculations produced from that fixed snapshot.

How this page was produced: the comparable fact fields and first-draft study cues are generated deterministically from that pinned data, then checked by automated tests for 197 unique records, complete required fields, valid neighbour references, unique rankings and valid page markup. GeoBlitz does not claim that every sentence was independently researched by hand; the source, transformation rules and limitations are published so readers can audit them.

The reference was generated from REST Countries revision bfadee4f. REST Countries documents the international sources used to reconcile its fields. Regional interpretation is checked against the United Nations M49 methodology, while the exact GeoBlitz roster and political-neutrality notes are explained in GeoBlitz methodology and sources.

Figures are intended for learning and comparison. They are not legal statements about sovereignty, boundaries or recognition. If a value appears wrong or has materially changed, please send the country, field and a reliable source through the correction form.
